Keyshawn Johnson weighs in on Odell Beckham Jr.'s situation with Cleveland Browns

Keyshawn Johnson was once in a similar situation to Odell Beckham Jr.
On Thursday, the former NFL wide receiver shared keen insight into his take on Beckham’s situation with the Cleveland Browns.
“What they are doing in Cleveland, is preparing to move on without OBJ,” Johnson said on Thursday morning. “It’s a clear message. Why they did not get a deal done before the trade deadline, when you know you’re going to have to whack him here in the next day or two? It’s just weird that they won’t get anything for him.”
Johnson then provided insight into his time with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and says the Browns may be trying to do something similar with Beckham now.
“Or they may just decide to pay him and have him stay on,” Keyshawn Johnson added.
“That’s what the Tampa Bay Buccaneers did with me. Rich McKay, who is the president of the Atlanta Falcons, was the general manager at the time. He called me one day when I was in Dallas Texas, on my off day, and told me they were going to pay me the remaining, I think there was 6 or 7 games left in the season. They were going to give me my full salary, but they made a decision that allowed me to stay home. I asked them why they didn’t just trade me, and they said, ‘we talked about it, but Jon didn’t want to do that.”
Keyshawn Johnson shares unique perspective on Beckham situation
It’s clear Johnson knows a thing or two about this situation involving Beckham and the Browns. The former NFL wide receiver was adamant, while defending Beckham, that his time in Cleveland is now over.

“I was like cool, you pay me and I stay home, no big deal,” Johnson added.
“I think this is similar to what is going to happen with OBJ, because, in that situation with me … I didn’t do anything. I didn’t violate anything. That’s why they still had to pay me. I wasn’t conduct detrimental to the team. OBJ hasn’t done anything. He’s playing, he’s not faking injuries, he’s not doing any of that. So they will make the decision to move on from him here in the next couple of days, or they will send him home for the remainder of the season. But I can almost guarantee you right now, on this show, that OBJ’s last game was last Sunday for the Cleveland Browns.”
While Beckham’s NFL future remains uncertain, it’s obvious Keyshawn Johnson feels his time in Cleveland has abruptly ended.
