Kyle Busch and son Brexton earn track championships at Millbridge Speedway
How about a father and son sharing a moment on track, each with their own championship? Kyle and Brexton Busch did that last night. The two drivers won their respective mid-week championships at Millbridge Speedway. It was a NASCAR affair on Wednesday.
Brexton Busch came up P2 in his Restricted Micro race on Wednesday night. The kid who beat him? Owen Larson, son of Cup Series driver Kyle Larson. However, it was Busch who came away with the championship.
In Kyle Busch’s Championship Wednesday race in Winged Micros, he came up with the race and championship win. Rowdy is not a dirt racer by trade. He believes it helps him and it definitely helps his son as he develops as a driver.
How about a father-son photo in Victory Lane?
“Big year at [Millbridge Speedway] [with Brexton Busch] and both of us being able to bring home championships in our respective divisions. The future looks bright!” Kyle Busch wrote in his own post.
Of course, Brexton is on the fast track for NASCAR. His dad has a plan mapped out for him. It all starts with dirt racing, too. He believes drivers like Kyle Larson, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell, Chase Briscoe, and others are so talented because of their dirt backgrounds.
There are a number of children of NASCAR drivers racing in these local short tracks. Busch, Larson, Clint Bowyer, and others have kids just beginning their racing careers.

While others are racing because it is the family tradition, Kyle Busch has grand plans for his son.
Kyle Busch has big plans for Brexton
Now, Brexton Busch is only nine years old. He has a lot of growing up to do. However, with Kyle Busch being his father, he has a path before him. A very detailed path.
We have heard Rowdy talk about his son’s future career before. Right now, it is all about developing him as a well-rounded driver. Eventually, Busch wants to put Brexton in the Truck Series, a series that he won 100 races in as a team owner.
The idea is that at 16 or 17 years old, Brexton and Kyle will split a truck for a year or two. Kyle will race the big tracks that only 18+ drivers are allowed to race. Brexton will take control of the truck for the rest of the schedule.
From there, who knows what Kyle Busch will have for Brexton? These two are very close and fuel each other on and off the track. A little father-son racing is always fun to watch and when they are this successful, you just have to sit back and take it all in.
