Kyle Busch has been around the block a few times since his debut in the NASCAR Cup Series, and the two-time champion is reveling in Michael Jordan’s importance to the sport as a whole.

Looking ahead to the Cup Series playoffs after he narrowly missed out making the Round of 16, Busch waxed poetic about Jordan and the 23XI organization. It’s evident Busch believes having the basketball legend leading their team is a huge boon for drivers like Tyler Reddick and Bubba Wallace.

Simply picking Jordan’s brain is an incredible resource, and Busch even compared it to his time with Joe Gibbs Racing, where the iconic Super Bowl champion coach was at the helm.

“Those guys have such a resource at their fingertips, of being able to talk to that guy, ask him questions, ‘How did you handle x-moment, or what did you do, what was your thought process?’ All of those things, to get inside the mind of the greatest of all time, you know, and to have that resource is just phenomenal,” Busch said. “That’s one thing that I feel like can make anyone great, and I feel like he raises the bar for anyone that works there, at 23XI, because they know who that guy is, and they know what his accomplishments have been.

“Even though he’s not doing it himself, playing the game, being the player, it’s not necessarily the coaching staff or the engineers or the crew chief or anything like that, but it’s not different than Coach [Joe] Gibbs, right? We all looked at him, and we asked him those same sorts of questions, because he put himself in those spots with so many great players over the years, ‘How can I be one of his great players, and go out and win a championship?'”

It’s easy to see how having Jordan in their corner has paid off for 23XI Racing’s wheelmen, especially with Reddick capturing the regular season title over the course of the 2024 campaign. The improvement in the team has been stark and swift, and Jordan’s drive to win is helping the cause.

Moving forward, Kyle Busch will continue trying to beat Michael Jordan’s 23XI Racing team, but it’s easy to see why the two-time champion has immense respect for the organization his brother Kurt Busch drove, and won, for at the tail-end of his career.
