Kyle Busch had a funny response for a poll NBC Sports asked about him and Dale Earnhardt. In honor of the race at Bristol Motor Speedway on Sunday, NBC Sports asked the fans if Busch or Earnhardt would win a 10-lap race at the track.

“Neither one of us would see the checkered,” Busch replied on social media. Busch indicates that both drivers are aggressive which could lead to both wrecking each other. While fans would love to see that race, they likely wouldn’t mind if the two wrecked each other.

Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt have had a lot of success at Bristol. Busch has won six Cup Series races at the track while Enarhardt has won there nine times. For Busch, Sunday’s race would be a good time to get his first victory of the season to keep his 20-year win streak alive.

Will Kyle Busch go after Corey LaJoie on Sunday?

But will Busch go after Corey LaJoie for what happened at Watkins Glen? On the Stacking Pennies podcast, LaJoie talked about how he’s anticipating some payback from Busch due to wrecking him at last weekend’s race.

“So I wanted to give the 8 room there off the wall, didn’t want to crowd him,” LaJoie said. “And then I ended up coming into his left rear there, so there’s really no excuse for that. I was trying to… my only intention the first lap was to get singled out and not ruin anybody’s day and that’s the exact opposite of what happened. There’s a magnet for the 7 and the 8 car, unfortunately, and he’s had the short end of the stick. So I’m just waiting on payback.”

The wreck led to Busch finishing 30th at Watkins Glen, and it snapped a four-race streak of him finishing in the top 10. Busch missed out on the playoffs but still has a lot to race for this season. The 39-year-old has won a Cup Series race each season since 2005 which is his first year in the Cup Series as a full-time driver. He has not won a race yet this season despite finishing second at Daytona and Darlington.

“I’m not stressing over the playoffs probably as much as I’m stressing over the 20-year win streak,” Busch told Bob Pockrass of Fox Sports in May. “That’s the bigger goal. You win a race for that, you’re going to be in the playoffs. That’s the bigger one.”
