Another week of frustrations in practice for Kyle Busch. Kansas was supposed to be different from the issues of the last few weeks. Instead, Rowdy is going to have to get his car fixed up and hope he can make a qualifying lap. He still might have to start from the rear of the NASCAR field if adjustments have to be made.

It is almost like a repeat of last week. While Kyle Busch raced to a P11 finish, he had too many issues that kept him from getting more points and a better finish. You can’t advance to the Round of 12 or Round of 8 if you can’t qualify well and give yourself a fighting chance.

At some point, you have to win in the playoffs to be a champion. It is hard to win if your car keeps taking damage a day before the race even begins.

“Just never ends, I don’t know what to do to change it,” Busch said when asked after the incident.

Going back to Michigan, it has been frustration after frustration for Kyle Busch. The worst part is that it isn’t even happening in the race. A lot of the issues are happening in practice and qualifying. It sets you back and messes up your qualifying position. For a playoff driver, it can be detrimental.

Right after Busch blew a tire, Ty Gibbs had the exact same thing happen to him. Perhaps an issue with the Goodyear tire data?

We saw last week as drivers lost points on the cutline and slid down the standings. Busch cannot find himself doing that this week. He needs stage points, a good finish, and to completely turn things around from how they have been going.

Kyle Busch doesn’t know what to do

At this point, it is almost comical all of the errors that Busch has had to face recently. If it isn’t a mechanical issue, it is something like this. Similar to what Frankie Muniz is going through in the ARCA Menards Series, the gremlins just have not left Busch alone.

On pit road, Rowdy talked to NBC about what went down and he just doesn’t know what to do at this point. Back against the wall again, there is only one thing he can do, drive.

“Just like every other weekend, always put in a hole, always behind, always have to come and dig ourselves out,” Busch said. “Hate it for all the guys, the car was really good, had good longevity there. We were just running laps and running some pretty good laps comparatively to the rest of our group that we were with at that time. Just going to fine-tune on some things to get ready for qualifying and here we are starting last again. So, it just never ends, I don’t know what to do to change it.”

Kyle Busch is going to try to salvage something out of this weekend. While he is doing fine on points, he might find that cushion evaporated by the time the Hollywood Casino 400 ends on Sunday. You don’t want to enter Bristol in a must-win situation.
