Kyle Busch puts on a clinic, wins SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway
Everything is bigger in Texas, and that includes Kyle Busch’s wins. Rowdy dominated the Truck Series field from start to finish to take the win. The second win in four races this season for the NASCAR champion.
Late in this race, Corey Heim tried to reel in Kyle Busch. However, the No. 7 truck was just too strong. All night, Busch was able to defend his position from challengers like Heim, Nick Sanchez, and Christian Eckes.
For the 66th time in the Truck Series, Busch is a winner. He ties Todd Bodine for most truck wins at Texas Motor Speedway, his sixth win at the track.
This was a dominant race from the green flag to the checkered flag. What else did you expect from the winningest driver in Truck Series history?
Kyle Busch puts on another Master Class
What can you say about Kyle Busch that hasn’t already been said? Rowdy is one of the greatest race car drivers in American history. He once again put on a lesson for these young Truck Series drivers to learn from.
Stage 1 started with Nick Sanchez on pole. Busch started P4 and was soon fighting for the lead. Christian Eckes showed that he is fast no matter what track the series heads to. He’s my early championship favorite.
Eckes led some laps in this stage but before it was over, Kyle Busch was taking the lead from him. A few issues in the opening stage. Thad Moffitt had a mechanical issue that led to damage for four trucks, including Tyler Ankrum and Memphis Villarreal. Kris Wright was the only driver involved who wasn’t a DNF from the incident.
Rowdy is too good in Texas
Stage 2 was more of the same, but even more dominance from the two-time Cup Series champion. I love it when Busch enters these races. He should be allowed to race as many times as he wants in this series. Every time he lines up he elevates the entire field around him.

There were some new names fighting for second in this stage. Corey Heim put himself back in the mix. Taylor Gray and his pit crew were doing their best to stay with the leaders. However, it wouldn’t be enough to take the lead away from Rowdy.
Busch was calm, cool, and collected. He looked like the old Kyle Busch that we are used to seeing in these Truck Series races. Eckes, Sanchez, and Heim were scratching and clawing over P2, though.
A clean sweep of the stages for Busch and the No. 7 Spire Motorsports team.
Late restarts don’t bother Busch on way to victory
In typical Truck Series fashion, this race got ugly towards the end. A series of wrecks and spins led to a couple of late restarts that threatened Busch’s lead. Corey Heim is a monster on restarts. As soon as he was able, he took it three-wide every time.
Those late threats from Heim wouldn’t just be on the restarts. As the final green flag run started with 10 laps to go, the 11 had speed. In fact, it didn’t look like Busch was going to outlast the young racer.
A hard charge for the lead would ultimately fall short for Heim. There is no shame in losing to Busch in the Truck Series, though. Or any series for that matter. Here is the final finishing order.
Kyle Busch and winning in the Truck Series, is there a better pairing? Now if only Busch can get things going in the Cup Series. His Richard Childress Racing team has not been nearly as good as his Truck Series efforts in 2024.
