Things did not go well for Kyle Busch today at Homestead-Miami Speedway. He chalked it up to the car not being ready for the race. From the start, Busch was in the back of the NASCAR field, fighting for any track position he could get.

Kyle Busch was so bad today that leaders were complaining about how hard it was to lap him as he raced cars hard for 32nd place. That is not where Busch is used to running.

Richard Childress Racing has had struggles the last two years. Despite starting off hot together in 2023, RCR and Busch have been winless since Gateway that season.

Today, Busch put the blame squarely on the car and the setup. He did give credit to his team for making adjustments that gave him a fighting chance. The No. 8 team was 21st today.

“Certainly wasn’t the day we were looking for with our Bank OZK Chevrolet,” Busch said, via Kelly Crandall of RACER and ESPN. “We definitely missed that setup. Randall [Burnett] and the guys kept working on it with every stop and we were way better at the end. Appreciate the effort they put into it. We never gave up. We’ll keep working on it.”

Crew Chief Randall Burnett is the one who set up the car. He is also the one who got it pointed the right way to land a P21 finish. But let’s be honest, we’re talking about KYLE BUSCH. That result isn’t good enough no matter what the circumstances for the two-time champion.

Kyle Busch teases Monday announcement

There is more to this Kyle Busch saga. Well, if you believe in reading into cryptic tweets that may be nothing more than a merch or dirt racing announcement. Busch took to Twitter/X to tell Rowdy Nation he has an announcement for Monday.

Get this, he said the time for the announcement is at 18:51 on Monday. Now, why would he choose those two numbers? It could be any number of things, really.

This could be an announcement involving his son Brexton. His racing career is really starting to ramp up even though he’s not even 10 years old. Or this could be some kind of sprint car announcement? Maybe Busch is racing the 18 or 51 car in High Limit soon? Or maybe he’s finally landed a ride for Adelaide in Supercars or, God willing, an Indy 500 announcement.

Of course, I’m just throwing things out there. But 18 and 51 are two numbers that mean a lot to Kyle Busch and his career. I hope that it is a fun announcement at least. What do you think this announcement could be?
