Kyle Busch says 'I hate these cars' after disappointing GEICO 500 finish

The end of the GEICO 500 at Talladega Superspeedway did not end well for last year’s winner, Kyle Busch. It didn’t end well for many of the drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series. But Busch seems to be even more upset than most.

Kyle Busch has never had the best luck on superspeedways. His 2023 win at Talladega was more of an outlier than anything. Heading into the last couple of dozen laps, it felt like Busch was in the right place at the right time. He was there with a chance to make a move.

As the third line was building on the outside, Busch ducked in there ahead of Shane van Gisbergen and others. That’s when Ty Gibbs slipped in front of him and stalled the Chevy line. It ended the three-wide battle for a moment.

A huge wreck would break out at the end of the race. Michael McDowell was spun out after making a late block. A ton of cars were torn up and Busch was more than upset after finishing P27.

“Ride in line [and] finish where [you are],” Kyle Busch wrote on X/Twitter. “TRY to race for win [and] finish last. I hate these [explicit] cars!!!”

On the season, Kyle Busch only has one top-5 finish and two top-10 finishes besides that. It has been nothing but frustration for him and his No. 8 Richard Childress Racing team. At this point in the season last year, Busch had two wins, two top-10s, and another top-5 to his record.

Another harsh critic of the Next Gen car lets loose on it. Given how frustrating the day was, I can’t blame him for voicing his feelings here. Onto Dover for Busch and his team.

Kyle Busch finishes P27 in disappointing day for RCR

Last week after the Texas race, we were asking if RCR had turned a corner. Austin Dillon and Kyle Busch finished P8 and P9, respectively. Not amazing, but it felt like they had their feet under them at the very least.

This week things took another step back. Good news, the Xfinity Series program is still as strong as ever. In fact, Jesse Love got a win in the series, the rookie’s first. But then they ended up finishing P27 and P30 in the Cup Series race. Something isn’t adding up on the Cup side.

Last year this organization was winning races, running well. It was just Austin Dillon who lagged behind with a ton of DNFs in 2023. So, what is going on with the Busch team now? I’m not really all that sure because it feels like it is multiple issues.

Kyle Busch is growing frustrated. He can be mad at the car all he wants, but other teams are finding a way to put their drivers in Victory Lane. At some point, Richard Childress Racing has to do the same thing for their drivers.
