Kyle Busch speechless after P36 finish at Indianapolis Road Course
For Kyle Busch and his team, it is another week of what in the world happened? Rowdy has another awful result on his record. Since that win at Gateway, it has been sink or swim for Busch and his NASCAR team. This week they sank real low as Michael McDowell went on to win.
Even with top-10 speed on the day, Kyle Busch couldn’t avoid disaster. The Verizon 200 was going well, Busch picked up stage points and was looking to contend for a top-5 finish. However, the No. 8 Chevy Camaro would soon have issues.
A broken valve spring would ultimately doom Busch and his efforts for the day. This is the third finish of 36th or worse for Busch in the last five races. It has been mechanical issues, spins, and inexplicable slides into the wall in the last few weeks.
Now, it looks like Rowdy just doesn’t know what to do. This is the first road course of the season Busch didn’t finish in the top-5, including the Chicago Street Course.
Now, this could be a little doom and gloom immediately after a race. Kyle Busch isn’t one to get down for too long. This season, he has had one of the better records in the Cup Series. However, five weeks ago he was in contention for the regular season championship. Now he isn’t.
A lot can change in just a few races. You can always look on the bright side and hope that this is something that Busch and his team get out of the way now. No broken valve springs when it comes to the playoffs.

Kyle Busch fades after suffering mechanical issue
Sometimes there is just nothing you can do. The car falls apart and you are left fighting the vehicle that got you to where you are in the first place. Kyle Busch had a great car until he didn’t and that’s when everything changed.
Finishing P36 is tough to swallow when you were starting to creep up on the winners. At one point, as Chase Elliott gave chase to Michael McDowell, Busch had the fastest car on the track. That wouldn’t be the case when it came down to the final laps of the race.
Go back to that win at Gateway. Busch rallied off finishes of P2, P9, P5, and P5 in the four races after that. Since then, his results of P36, P21, P3, P37, and P36 have not helped his cause. Momentum is the name of the game in motorsports and Busch has the opposite of momentum right now.
Of course, that could all change as they head to Watkins Glen. This is a track that Kyle Busch has performed well at in the past. He had an even tougher stretch in the season last year around this time. Get it together before the playoffs and everything should work out just fine.
