In his first SRX Series race ever, Kyle Busch walked away as a winner as he drove his No. 51 machine to the checkered flag. Featuring sponsorship from the Florida Panthers NHL team, Busch was great all night. This race got a little rowdy, both from Busch himself and throughout the field filled with NASCAR talent past and present.

SRX Series racing can get intense. With all of these cars built the same and designed to put on a hell of a show, they sure did at the Motor Mile. Brad Keselowski was back for this race and he was looking great in the opening 50 laps or more. However, Rowdy started to catch up to the No .6 and eventually, got the track position on him.

Kyle Busch is going to Richmond with the SRX trophy and he’ll try to pair it with a NASCAR Cup Series trophy. He won over Clint Bowyer and Tony Stewart who rounded out the podium.

The move that Kyle Busch made to take the lead was a strong one. He was aggressive like he needed to be, but didn’t let it get out of control. Brad Keselowski was leading after the halfway mark and Busch kept getting closer and closer. Then, he made his move.

At first, it looked like Busch spun out Keselowski. On another look, it was clear that Keselowski forced the issue and got himself spun around in that instance. There were multiple instances of wrecks during this race, and lots of SRX cars tore up.

A week of short track racing, Kyle Busch and the other NASCAR regulars are going to head out to Richmond this weekend. With his consistency on the track, Busch is going to be one to watch in the Cook Out 400.

Kyle Busch has a steady hand at Richmond

In 35 starts at Richmond, Kyle Busch has six wins and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. When you look at his consistency at the track it is actually wild. Earlier this season, Busch qualified P2 but finished P14 at this track.

That P14 finish was the first non-top-10 finish at the track for Busch since April 2017. More times than not, it is more strange for the veteran driver to finish outside of the top-10 than it is the other way around. Not many drivers can say that about their performances. Even in 2018 when Busch started P32, he went on to win the April race that year.

Until the last two weeks in New Hampshire and Pennsylvania, Busch was on a bit of a hot streak. He looked like he was going to be able to compete for the regular season championship. Now it seems that he’s let it get too far away from him as Martin Truex Jr. and William Byron battle for the top spot.

With this SRX win out of the way, Kyle Busch will be completely focused on getting the job done at Richmond.
