Kyle Hamilton dealing with sprain, will ramp back up in a bit, per John Harbaugh
Baltimore Ravens safety Kyle Hamilton suffered an injury during practice on Sunday but shouldn’t miss significant time. On Monday, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said the Notre Dame alum is “good” after leaving practice early with an apparent leg injury.
“We’ll kind of ramp him back a little bit,” Harbaugh told reporters on Monday. “It’s kind of a minor — I’d say a sprain. So he got out there and moved around a little bit today. We’ll just kind of progress each day a little more.”
On Sunday, Harbaugh gave a promising update on Hamilton. “It looks stable, it looks good,” Harbaugh said, per the Ravens’ official website. “Obviously, we’ll continue to do some tests tonight and tomorrow to make sure, but first indications are that he’s fine.”
Hamilton, 23, was selected by the Ravens at No. 14 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. He made the All-Rookie Team in 2022 after recording 62 tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and five passes defended in 16 games. He followed that up with a First-Team All-Pro Season in 2023, registering 81 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, three sacks, four interceptions 13 passes defended and one defensive touchdown. Hamilton was a big reason the Ravens reached the AFC Championship game last year.

Kyle Hamilton can play a lot of positions on defense
“Kyle, he’s a man of his own,” three-time Pro Bowl cornerback Marlon Humphrey said, per the Ravens’ official website. “How he’s able to go from safety to nickel, to play really wherever. I always tell people if it had to be, Kyle could play every position on the defense except nose guard because he just can’t put on as much weight as Michael Pierce.”
Based on what Hamilton’s done in his first two seasons, he can do a little bit of everything on defense. That’s nothing new to the Atlanta native as he did the same thing on the college level.
“At Notre Dame, I did a little bit of everything, but coming into the league I really didn’t expect to,” Hamilton said. “I more expected to play both safety spots and that would be the extent of my flexibility. But it’s been awesome. Monday’s meetings, come in, whatever they need me to do, play deep, play half, play down in the box, cover. Whatever they need me to do, I’m here for it.”
