Kyle Hamilton injury: Ravens safety goes down in 2nd quarter vs. Bengals
In the second quarter of the Ravens’ showdown against the Cincinnati Bengals on Thursday, Baltimore safety Kyle Hamilton left the game with an apparent lower-leg injury. Hamilton dropped back in coverage on the play before seemingly injuring himself while making a turn.
Hamilton limped to the sideline on his own power. After reaching the sideline, he entered the injury tent. Ar’Darius Washington replaced Hamilton. Before leaving the game, Hamilton tallied four tackles and two passes defended.
If Hamilton’s injury persists, it will be a massive loss for the Ravens. The former Notre Dame standout has been one of the best defensive backs in the NFL this season, boasting 67 tackles, five passes defended, two sacks and a forced fumble.
It’s been no surprise for Ravens fans, who enjoyed Hamilton’s immense talents last season as well. In the 2023 campaign, Hamilton notched a career-high 81 tackles, 13 passes defended, 10.0 tackles for loss, 3.0 sacks and four interceptions.

For his efforts, he received his first Pro Bowl nod and was named a First-Team All-Pro. Hamilton’s injury on Thursday was not only disappointing for Ravens fans but for the All-Pro safety, as well. In the week leading up to the game, Kyle Hamilton expressed his excitement for a rematch against the Bengals.
“From a defensive perspective – obviously, we won that game, but I feel like the offense kind of willed us to that win,” Hamilton said. “We’re not proud of that game, and it’s something that we learned from, and we want to come back and improve on, and we have the opportunity to do that and right our wrong.
“Joe [Burrow] was pretty comfortable, for the most part, the whole game, and he’s pretty dangerous when you let him get that comfortable. Communication – all that stuff – we’ve improved on, [but we] still have a ways to go. … I’m excited to see what we do on Thursday.”
