Kyle Larson discusses possibility of High Limit Racing, World of Outlaws merger
When Kyle Larson co-founded High Limit Racing, he saw an opportunity to disrupt sprint car racing and improve the sport for the better. So, if that means a future merger with the World of Outlaws, then that is a possibility.
In 2024, Kyle Larson and Brad Sweet took their fledgling sprint car series on its first national tour. It was a schedule that wasn’t trying to compete with the Outlaws in the same markets every weekend. And it was a rather successful season.
With races streaming on FloRacing, High Limit has a broadcast partner that is heavily invested in the series. Still, the thought of a World of Outlaws merger has crossed Larson’s mind.
“I think that’s a thought probably – it’s at least a topic that we’ve talked about as something that could potentially happen down the road, and I’m sure even World Racing Group has probably had that run through their minds as well,” Larson said to Adam Stern of Sports Business Journal.
“I don’t think we’re to that point yet but hopefully whatever happens will be for the betterment of the sport.”
Kyle Larson is a star in American motorsports. From sprint cars to NASCAR to IndyCar, he has proven himself to be perhaps the most versatile driver of his generation. As his star power grows, with yet another attempt at the Indy 500 in 2025, it could help High Limit grow.
You can’t deny the impact that High Limit Racing has already had in the last two years. Increased purse sizes in the World of Outlaws on top of a traveling, professional safety crew. Those are direct responses to the High Limit model.

Kyle Larson cares deeply about dirt racing
Anyone who knows anything about Kyle Larson knows that dirt racing is in his heart. Racing is what he does, period. But when he’s in a sprint car on the dirt, it is art. Make no mistake about it, his talents in that realm are on another level. Imagine if he was racing 60+ times a year on dirt and not a part-time schedule.
In his own High Limit series, Larson has started to help build the next generation. Corey Day is a teenage phenom in sprint car racing. He won the most races on the High Limit circuit for 2024. Day made his ARCA and NASCAR debuts earlier this year with backing from HendrickCars.com. That’s no coincidence.
Larson is more than comfortable talking about the next generation. He is complimentary of drivers like Day. In fact, he has said many times that Day is further along now than Larson was when he was a teenager. That’s high praise from one of the best drivers in the world.
This is not to say that Kyle Larson doesn’t care about NASCAR. Clearly, he does. He is trying to help Day get his start in the sport. Larson knows that putting dirt racers in stock cars is a great way to get more eyes on dirt.
It remains to be seen, but Day is turning heads at a young age and has the Hendrick blessing. Is he the next Yung Money? It’s hard to say that. And what role will High Limit play in not only Larson but Day’s career moving forward? This series has a chance to make a difference in dirt and NASCAR.
