Kyle Larson drops f-bomb while trying to fight past Riley Herbst in lapped traffic at Kansas
While he has had a good day at Kansas, Kyle Larson has no time to wait on lapped traffic to decide what they are going to do. The NASCAR champion was furious on his radio as he tried to pass Riley Herbst.
During Stage 2, Kyle Larson was battling to get back to the lead. He lost the lead on green flag pit stops after his team had to double-check that his lugnut was on tight enough before leaving pit road.
Larson got on the radio and lost his mind a little. It happens, emotions run high during races.
“Tell f***ing Riley Herbst to get out of the way,” Larson said, via Davey Segal. Herbst was two laps down in the second stage.
Kyle Larson has had trouble on pit road, he had to fight Ross Chastain for many laps in order to try and get the lead in Stage 1. That didn’t work out for him, though. Every time he would move up, something would just pull him back and cost him track position.
Stage 1 went to Denny Hamlin and Stage 2 went to Chris Buescher. Larson has picked up a lot of stage points, but it’s clear he wants to be out in front.

Kyle Larson gets the lead to start Stage 3
Coming into Stage 3, Kyle Larson’s pit crew was finally able to give him a solid stop and get him the lead. That clean air is what everyone wants and what Larson needs. There are a few cars out there that have the speed and driver capable of winning.
One driver who has had nothing but bad luck on pit road is Denny Hamlin. He has been held up twice on his stage break pit stops by other cars. First Austin Hill as Hill was getting to his box. Then by Ryan Preece going from Stage 2 to Stage 3. It was a tough break for Hamlin.
Mired back in traffic, Hamlin’s car was equipped for the long run. Hamlin won this race a year ago and his car came to him slowly. The same thing happened today but that was because his pit stops kept getting messed up.
Kyle Larson wants this one, bad. William Byron and Denny both have three wins. Larson only has one this season and he wants Kansas redemption from 2023.
