Kyle Larson’s flight from Indy 500 to Charlotte’s Coca-Cola 600 is most-tracked flight worldwide
For the second straight week, Kyle Larson’s flight from one racetrack to the other is among the most-tracked flights worldwide.
Over 10,000 people are tracking Larson, who is currently en route to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the Coca-Cola 600 after taking part in the 108th Running of the Indy 500. Only 17 minutes after the checkered flag at Indianapolis, Larson was on his jet, on his way to Charlotte. Larson is expected to land at Concord airport at 9:20 p.m. ET, per Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports.
Larson, who started P5, picked up a P18 finish in his IndyCar Series debut. He sat in the top-10 but was caught speeding on pit road on Lap 136 and had to serve a pass-through penalty. Larson also spun his tires on the first restart of the race and lost some ground. Through those mistakes, Larson managed to lead a couple laps towards the end of the race before making his final pit stop.

Kyle Larson reacts to P18 finish at Indianapolis 500
He’ll now travel to Charlotte to relieve Justin Allgaier, who started the Coca-Cola 600 in place of him. Larson had planned to race the full 1,100 laps between the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600, but storms in the area delayed the 500’s 12:45 p.m. start time to 4:45 p.m. While not quite the Indy-Charlotte Double he imagined, it’s still an achievement to become the fifth driver to attempt it.
And who knows, maybe next year could be his year to do it.
“I would definitely love to be back next year,” Larson told NBC after the race. “I feel like I learned a lot throughout the race. Made a couple of mistakes early there with the restart. Not sure what I did wrong there, but I somehow got myself into third.”
