Kyle Larson kept it real when speaking on why he’s avoided messing with Kevin Harvick on the track at all costs in 2023.

Of course, it’s Harvick’s last season in the NASCAR Cup Series, and Larson has a ton of respect for his fellow former champion, but that’s not what’s keeping him from pushing Harvick around week-in and week-out. Evidently, the threat of Harvick racing without a care in the world puts some fear in the Hendrick star.

“Asked by @jordan_bianchi about racing with Kevin Harvick, Kyle Larson says he’s intentionally tried to stay out of Harvick’s way this year because, ‘He’s probably on his Zero F—- Given Tour, so I didn’t want to be on the receiving end of anything,” tweeted Jeff Gluck of The Athletic.

While it’s a hilarious response from Larson, it also makes a ton of sense. With Harvick eliminated from the Playoffs and finishing out his career over the next three races, the Stewart-Haas wheelman has nothing to lose. You better watch yourself around him.

Regardless, it’ll be a joy to watch Kevin Harvick end his illustrious career as the NASCAR season comes to a close, while Kyle Larson attempts to win his second title.

Kyle Larson isn’t changing his strategy in next two races after qualifying for Championship 4

Meanwhile, Kyle Larson may be locked into the Championship 4, but that won’t be changing his strategy at Homestead or Martinsville.

In actuality, Larson could punt on the next two races, and solely prepare for Phoenix. However, that isn’t in his competitive nature, and the Hendrick Motorsports star is planning to attempt to rack up two more wins over the next two weeks.

“It’s nice to be locked in,” Larson delineated, via SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.” The points are really close, so it’s good to not have to worry about points, and just kind of go there and race our own race, and try to run upfront and make good decisions on the race track. But you know, I’m also — knowing that I’m locked in, I’m not going there and thinking that these next two races are throwaways.

“I want to go there, have some good runs, potentially get another couple of wins, and roll into Phoenix with a lot of confidence and momentum, and try to go after our second championship.”

Alas, time will tell how Kyle Larson races over the next two weeks, but it’s evident he’ll have a leg-up on the competition come time for the Championship 4, not that he needs it.
