Kyle Larson let his frustration get the best of him in a rare moment while reflecting on his qualifying performance at Gateway.

The former NASCAR Cup Series champion will roll off P22 on Sunday, and it’s evident he’s not very confident at the moment. While Larson praised his team for giving him a solid car, it seems as if the Hendrick Motorsports star hasn’t been happy with his driving abilities over the weekend.

Check out the video shared by FOX Sports’ Bob Pockrass below, where Larson explains his thoughts on a disappointing weekend for the No. 5 team thus far.

“I felt like my car is, better probably than I am right now,” a dejected Larson explained. “But you know, maybe if I put all of my stuff together, we probably still need to be a little bit better. A bit of a frustrating practice and qualifying. Just, yeah. I don’t know.

“We had trouble here last year, and don’t feel much better here this year. But like I said, I think more of it’s me than probably the car.”

Regardless, you can never count out Kyle Larson. History tells us he’ll find a way to compete on Sunday, even if he doesn’t have his favorite car of all time.

As you can see, DraftKings Sportsbook has the suspended Chase Elliott’s Hendrick teammates Kyle Larson and William Byron with the top odds to find Victory Lane at Gateway. Evidently, they’re not scared off by Chevrolet’s troubles at the track in 2022, as the Kyle Busch, who switched to the manufacturer this season, follows with the third best odds.

Moreover, DraftKings believes in Ryan Blaney’s attempt to secure back-to-back wins, as they have him at +850, while his teammate, last season’s winner at Gateway in Joey Logano, also possess the same odds.

Nevertheless, it’ll all be settled on the track. Chase Elliott or no Chase Elliott, Gateway should be a fun race to watch.
