Kyle Larson is looking to etch his name into motorsports history, preparing the run the Indianapolis 500 and the Coca-Cola 600 on Sunday.

Ahead of his attempt at the famed double, Larson joined Adam Alexander on NASCAR Race Hub from Indianapolis Motor Speedway, where he explained what the most enjoyable aspect of looking to pull off the feat is for him.

“I think so far the most enjoyable part of this process has been, or not necessarily the process, but the whole experience, has been seeing everybody get to live out the experience with me,” Larson told Alexander. “Whether it be you know, people close to me, Jeff Gordon, Jeff Andrews, friends and family. But also race fans, and Rick Hendrick especially too. You know, he gets to come later this weekend for the race on Sunday. So I really just — it makes it feel special to me, that they all get to experience this and have fun and all that.

“I’ve loved it. Flying with Jeff Gordon and Jeff Andrews from here, rushing out after qualifying to go to North Wilkesboro. Having them a part of the chaos was a lot of fun, and I know it’s not only memories that I’m always going to remember, but everybody within my circle, as well.”

Larson is already making all of NASCAR proud, as he represented himself well during Indianapolis 500 qualifying. He’ll start in the second row on Sunday, running the race and looking for a great finish before jetting over to Charlotte Motor Speedway in the evening.

However, the weather might play a factor at both tracks, as rain is in the area. With that on his mind, Hendrick Motorsports team owner Rick Hendrick said earlier this week that it would be “very tough” to have to pull Larson out of the Indy 500 in order to make it to Charlotte on time due to the weather.

“That’s a tough question because we’ve talked it many times and we know we need to be in Charlotte for the points,” Hendrick said, via Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports. “We’re just gonna let it play out. It would be very hard; it would be very tough. It would be very disappointing because of all the effort that everyone has put in.

“… We’ve got a tremendous amount of folks there at Indy, and he’s in such a good position, it would be extremely hard.”

Hopefully it doesn’t come to that, as it looks like Kyle Larson won’t only have a shot to compete in both races, but a shot to win. Now that would be an all-time Sunday, and we’re not putting anything beyond Larson’s capabilities.
