This week, as long as rain and weather stay out of the way, Kyle Larson will conduct an IndyCar test with Arrow McLaren. This isn’t an official IndyCar test, but one the NASCAR star will be doing internally with his team.

Larson is set to take on the Memorial Day Double, both the Indy 500 and Coca-Cola 600 in the same day. Only a few drivers have ever tried it, the last being Kurt Busch in 2014.

On Tuesday, Arrow McLaren will get Kyle Larson in a car and run some laps. The one-mile trioval in the desert is where Larson won his 2021 Cup Series championship. Now, he will try and get up to speed in an all-new car at the track.

According to AutoSport, Larson will be joined by his Arrow McLaren team that will be with him at the Indy 500. Tony Kanaan, Sporting Director for the team and 2013 Indy 500 champion will also be on-site to assist.

Larson detailed his plans.

“I’m supposed to test Tuesday in Phoenix, and I think there is an open test in April (at Indianapolis),” Larson said to AutoSport.

“I would say once April rolls around, I’d say that’s when it’ll get hot and heavy on prep work. I’m so used to being busy, so I don’t think it’s really going to feel way different for me. Just more studying and stuff behind the screen of a computer. It should be okay, I think.”

Kyle Larson will be busy once the spring gets here.

Kyle Larson reached his ‘limit’ at The Clash

This past weekend, Larson was in the NASCAR Busch Light Clash. He was solid throughout the race, had speed in practice and qualifying. For whatever reason, Larson just couldn’t get up into contention with the leaders. He was able to secure a top-5 finish, though.

However, it wasn’t without controversy. Kyle Larson and Bubba Wallace battled for much of the race. Larson felt that Wallace used him up a few times, and wanted to get a little revenge before the end of the race.

On the last lap, Larson got into the back of Wallace and sent him spinning around, and out of the top-5.

“I haven’t seen any replays from the last restart, but he got me again and then got me again in the next corner,” Larson explained after the race. Then he gave his side of things. “I think at that point that was three times to my none, so I wanted to get him back before the checkered. I wasn’t trying to spin him out or anything; I was just trying to shove him through the corner like he was doing to me, and he ended up going around.

“Product of this racing and finally reaching my limit, I guess, but yeah, just how it goes.”

Kyle Larson will conduct his IndyCar test in Phoenix. Then, he will turn his full attention to Daytona.
