From the pole to the checkered flag – Kyle Larson wins the Knoxville Nationals and the $190,000 prize money with it. The NASCAR Cup Series start took it to the World of Outlaws again and came away with another victory.

Kyle Larson recently won at I-55 Raceway. Now he is a winner at Knoxville (IA). The Knoxville Nationals are a big deal. Every year the best in dirt racing come to the track to battle it out over one of the largest purses of the season.

Earlier today, Larson was practicing and qualifying at Richmond Raceway for the Cup Series. He caps off the day with a checkered flag on the dirt. That’s the life that Larson lives.

Kyle Larson goes back-to-back in the Knoxville Nationals, leading all 100 laps in 2023 and 2024 combined. Third Nationals win overall.

At the halfway break, Kyle Larson and his team elected to keep their tires on. Others swapped out tires to get fresh rubber. Larson didn’t feel it was necessary. He had that No. 57 flying around the track all night long.

The World of Outlaws attracts the most talented dirt racers in the world. When you have a six-figure purse for the winner, that is only going to raise the stakes and level of talent.

Giovanni Scelzi and Carson Macedo gave chase, but couldn’t keep up with Larson’s pace. Corey Day started to stick his nose in the front. But it was all Larson.

In the second half of this race it felt like Scelzi was going to reel Larson in, but he couldn’t get close enough to make a real pass for the lead. A great finale to the weekend in Iowa. Now, Larson heads to Richmond where he will try to win the 400-lap race on Sunday.

Denny Hamlin on pole, Kyle Larson falters in qualifying

For the 43rd time in his career, Denny Hamlin wins the pole award in the NASCAR Cup Series. Hometown driver gets it done at Richmond! Denny was the slowest car to make the final round, and he came out with the pole award.

Denny Hamlin pulled off a somewhat improbable feat. He was the slowest car overall in the final ten. He went out first since he was the fifth fastest in Group A. The following nine drivers, Tyler Reddick, Joey Logano, Austin Dillon, Chase Elliott, Bubba Wallace, Martin Truex Jr., Josh Berry, Chris Buescher, and Christopher Bell all tried and failed to beat his time.

Earlier this season, Hamlin stole the win at Richmond. Today, he stole the pole. Get ready for Sunday night, it’s going to be a blast.

Kyle Larson couldn’t keep the same pace as his teammate Chase Elliott. In fact, Hendrick overall wasn’t that great in qualifying. Maybe that is a sign of things to come, or shows that they are dialed in for the long 400 lapper coming up tomorrow.
