We all know that Kyle Larson is making the Coca-Cola 600 a priority this year, but what about the NASCAR All-Star Race? Larson could have a conflict with Indy 500 qualifying and the $1,000,000 race at North Wilkesboro.

Last year, NASCAR and IndyCar fans loved watching Kyle Larson fly around from one track to another. Indianapolis to North Carolina over and over.

The final round of qualifying for the Indy 500, the Fast 6, is an hour later this year than last year. It only gives Larson a little over an hour to get from Indy to Wilkesboro, should he make the Fast 6 again.

Speaking to Bob Pockrass of FOX Sports, Larson revealed his plan for the All-Star Race. Pole at Indy or $1,000,000?

“I think that I would miss the Fast 6 and go to the All-Star Race,” Larson explained. “It’s important to race in, it’s a lot of money on the line, so sure it’d be great to you know, have an opportunity to get he pole, but I’d rather race for a million dollars and start sixth [at Indy]. We’ll see. I mean, you never really know how it’s going to go. Gotta make sure our car’s fast enough to even worry about all that anyways.”

Kyle Larson made NASCAR change the rules this year. His decision to stay and race the Indy 500 over the Coke 600 last year due to weather was a major one. It is a decision that NASCAR doesn’t want any driver to make ever again.

However, the rules don’t really say anything about an exhibition like the All-Star Race. If he wanted to, Larson could stick around for the Fast 6 and try to win the Indy 500 pole award. Sounds like his mind is already made up on that.

Kyle Larson filling in for Connor Zilisch

This weekend includes an Xfinity Series race for Kyle Larson at Texas. He got the call to replace Connor Zilisch after Zilisch suffered a minor back injury at Talladega. At 18 years old, it is better to be safe than sorry in 10 years for pushing through an injury too early.

Larson will be in the 88 car for JR Motorsports. That automatically makes him a favorite to win the race. It won’t just be a cake walk, though. Yes, he has dominated the two Xfinity Series races he has been in, but he only won one of those races, Bristol.

Filling in for Zilisch is more of a favor for JRM. They are going to be able to stay afloat in the owner’s points for the 88 team. Zilisch will take a hit by missing this week, but the 88 team could come out better for it if Larson picks up a bunch of points on that end.

Kyle Larson has double duty this weekend at Texas, and NASCAR fans are in for a treat. This Texas track gave the Truck Series fits on Friday night, and I expect it to do the same today for the Xfinity Series and again on Sunday for the Cup Series.
