Earlier this week, Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson had some poignant comments about his former teammate, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray, on his podcast. Wednesday, Murray responded.

Peterson made this thoughts clear on Murray during a recent episode the “All Things Covered” podcast, which he hosts alongside Bryant McFadden.

“Kyler Murray doesn’t care about anybody but Kyler Murray,” he said.

That episode dropped Wednesday afternoon. A few hours later, Murray retweeted a graphic with the quote and called Peterson out for not taking it up with him, personally.

“This isn’t true,” Murray wrote. “You on some weird s— @P2 you got my number, if you really felt like this as a ‘big bro’ or ‘mentor’ you supposed to call me and tell me, not drag me so your podcast can grow…”

Peterson and Murray played together in Arizona from 2019-20 before Peterson signed with Minnesota. He then re-signed another one-year contract with the Vikings before the season and is in the midst of a solid campaign. He has three interceptions for 52 yards to help the team to a 9-2 record to lead the NFC North.

As for Murray, he and the Cardinals are in the midst of a rough season. He has completed 66.3% of his passes for 2,359 yards and 14 touchdowns in the air while also rushing for 415 yards and three touchdowns as the Cardinals enter the bye week with a 4-8 record. The former Oklahoma star missed time this month with a hamstring injury before returning last week against the Los Angeles Chargers — a 25-24 loss in the final seconds.

Peterson and the Vikings are preparing to welcome the New York Jets to U.S. Bank Stadium on Sunday. After the bye week, Arizona will take on the New England Patriots Dec. 12 at State Farm Stadium.
