Lamar Jackson addresses awkward scramble: 'I felt the wind touching my butt'
Lamar Jackson nearly ran out of his pants Sunday afternoon against the New York Giants. The Baltimore Ravens quarterback took off on a scramble in the second quarter, but appeared to hold on to his pants as he crossed the line of scrimmage.
After the game, Jackson joked with reporters about the moment. He confirmed what most people watching could already see — that his pants were falling down — and he had to do his best to keep them up.
“I felt like the wind was touching my butt,” he said. “So I was trying to keep my tights up for real. I felt like the tights got a little loose or something. So I was just trying to keep my pants up. That’s all that was.”
Impressively, Jackson still managed to pick up the first down on the play. So he still got out of the blunder with yards for a positive gain.
The Ravens went on to win 35-14 to improve 9-5 on the season. Jackson finished the game with 65 yards rushing and 290 yards passing with five touchdowns.
Jackson has been one of the best rushing quarterbacks in the NFL over the past several seasons but we’ve never seen something quite like this. So far this season, he has ran for 678 yards and three touchdowns.

Lamar Jackson: ‘I want to be a champion’
Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson is ready to take the next step in his NFL career, which is getting a Super Bowl ring. While speaking to reporters this preseason, Jackson was asked about his goal of being a champion now that he’s won the NFL MVP award twice.
“That’s been the first check box for me since 2018,” Jackson said. “I said that April 26, whenever I was drafted I said that, and I meant that. This is the highest level of this game we play. You got to go out a champion, and that’s what I want to be labeled as a champion, not just MVP here and there. “I want to be a champion.”
Jackson and the Ravens came close to being champions last year. The team reached the AFC Championship game but lost to Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs. In six career playoff games, Jackson has a 2-4 record and has thrown six touchdowns and six interceptions.
“Patience is the key,” Jackson said. “Only a few quarterbacks have won a Super Bowl in the last few years. A lot of people haven’t won. I’m focusing on me and I want that real bad. I’m just focusing on what I can control and go from there.”
