The Philadelphia Eagles ask Landon Dickerson to play center in the NFC Championship game, replacing an injured Cam Jurgens. But Dickerson got hurt himself, forcing Jurgens back into the game. Thankfully, there is an extra week before Philadelphia plays in the Super Bowl.

When asked on Tuesday, Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni did not have an update on Dickerson. However, Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer believes the guard should be good to go against Kansas City on Feb. 9. A big boost for the offensive line.

Potentially even bigger is an update provided on Jurgens. He will be ready to play after not getting the start against Washington.

#Eagles HC Nick Sirianni had no update on LG Landon Dickerson (knee), but from what I understand, Dickerson expects to play in the Super Bowl,” McLane said via X. “C Cam Jurgens (back) said after the game that he will be ready for the Chiefs.”

Dickerson has been a huge part of the Eagles’ offense throughout the entire year. During the regular season, he played 100% of offensive snaps on nine different occasions. Some special teams work is even included in there.

The same is true when looking at the playoffs. Dickerson was on the field for the entire game against Green Bay and Los Angeles. His snap count numbers took a tumble against Washington but that was due to the injury.

Jurgens worked through an injury to replace Dickerson on Sunday. Tyler Steen then got action at left guard and still provided quality moments for the Eagles. Although, best case scenario for the team is having both Dickerson and Jurgens back for the Super Bowl.

Based on McLane’s reporting, it sounds like they will. Philadelphia’s offensive line has been one of the best units in the NFL this season, even after losing Jason Kelce to retirement. It’s never easy to replace a long-time center, especially after finishing his career on three consecutive All-Pro seasons.

Somehow, a beat has not been skipped. Jalen Hurts has been given plenty of time to throw and the Eagles have an elite run game going with Saquon Barkley. After all, they are playing in the Super Bowl.

One more game is required to get the job done, though. Kansas City will be looking to become the league’s first-ever three-peat while Philadelphia wants its first championship since 2017. The extra week before kickoff appears to be helping them out.
