Report: Las Vegas Raiders trading Davante Adams to New York Jets
NFL insider Adam Schefter reports Tuesday that the Las Vegas Raiders are completing a trade that sends wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets. The All-Pro wideout will reunite with his former quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the biggest trade of the season.
According to Schefter, the Raiders will be receiving a conditional third-round draft pick that can be a second-round pick based on performance in exchange for Adams. The star WR requested to be traded from the organization on October 1 during his third season with Las Vegas.
Adams and Rodgers were one of the NFL’s most dynamic quarterback-wide receiver duos during their time together with the Green Bay Packers. They shared an eight-year stretch where Adams caught 669 passes from Rodgers for 8,121 yards and 73 touchdowns. In the postseason, the duo connected 72 times for 910 yards and eight scores.
During that time frame, Rodgers took home three NFL Most Valuable Player awards and Adams was named a First-Team All-Pro twice, both combining for 12 Pro Bowl selections during their time together as teammates for the Packers. Accolades and production that they’ll both look to replicate during their reunion in New York.

Adams departed from Green Bay in March of 2022 via a trade that sent him to Las Vegas and made him the highest-paid wide receiver in the NFL at the time after signing a five-year, $141.25 million deal with the Raiders. That trade also reunited him with his college quarterback Derek Carr, who signed with the New Orleans Saints ahead of the 2023 season, a year where three different quarterbacks started under center for the Raiders in a 8-9 season.
This year Adams has caught 18 passes for 209 yards and a touchdown in three games for the Raiders before suffering a hamstring injury. He is expected to return to play soon upon his arrival in New York as he joins a 2-4 team that’s already fired its head coach and made a change at offensive play-caller heading into Week 7. A franchise desperate for success that’s calling upon Adams to provide a spark and reignite his connection with Rodgers to help salvage their season.
