Las Vegas Raiders fire offensive coordinator Luke Getsy, per report
The Las Vegas Raiders have fired offensive coordinator Luke Getsy on Sunday evening, according to a report from Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network. The Raiders have looked like one of the worst teams in the NFL this year, stumbling out to a 2-7 overall record.
On Sunday, Las Vegas was blown out on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals 41-24. The Raiders offense only managed 214 total yards of offense, in addition to allowing five sacks. Four sacks went to Bengals defensive lineman Trey Hendrickson.
As a result, the Raiders terminated Getsy’s role with their franchise. This is the second time Getsy has been fired as an offensive coordinator. Previously, he was the offensive coordinator for the Chicago Bears for two seasons before being fired.
The Raiders currently rank near the bottom of the National Football League with 280.2 net yards per game. The franchise has yet to announce who will be replacing Getsy.
According to the Raiders Twitter page on Monday morning, Las Vegas also relieved James Cregg and Rich Scangarello of their duties. Cregg worked as the team’s offensive line coach and Scangarello was their quarterback coach.
Raiders quarterback Gardner Minshew has struggled at the beginning of the season, completing 67.6% of his passes for 1,377 passing yards, while tossing in six touchdowns to eight interceptions. He’s also been sacked 22 times, and the Raiders’ offensive line has allowed 30 sacks total. The 30 sacks allowed rank them with the fourth most in the National Football League.

A few of the bright spots for the Raiders offensive attack have been rookie tight end Brock Bowers and receiver Jakobi Meyers.
Bowers has looked like the tantalizing prospect he was coming out of Georgia. The Raiders took him with the No. 13 overall selection in the 2024 NFL Draft and the electrifying tight end has not disappointed. So far, he’s hauled in 57 catches for 580 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Receiver Jakobi Meyers continues to be a bright spot. He hauled in eight catches for 105 receiving yards against the Bengals on Sunday. He’s hauled in 39 catches for 430 receiving yards and two touchdowns on the 2024 season. The franchise will continue to lean on he and Bowers even more heavily, after Davante Adams departed to the New York Jets to reunite with his old teammate, Aaron Rodgers.
Next up, Las Vegas will get some time off (bye week), before regrouping and facing the Miami Dolphins on Sunday, Nov. 17. That one will be on CBS.
