Las Vegas Raiders players troll Patrick Mahomes with Kermit the Frog doll at practice
The Las Vegas Raiders decided to troll Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes to kick off training camp. A video surfaced on social media that showed Raiders safety Trey Taylor holding a Kermit puppet dressed as Mahomes. Mahomes is compared to Kermit the Frog because of his voice.
While the video is funny, it might not be a wise choice for the Raiders to troll arguably the best player in the NFL. Mahomes and the Chiefs enter the 2024 season as the defending back-to-back Super Bowl champions and are looking to be the first team in NFL history to win three consecutive Super Bowls.
Also, the Chiefs would love to get revenge on the Raiders after losing to them on Christmas Day last year. It was the final loss for Kansas City before going on its Super Bowl run.
“We got our a** beat by the f***ing Raiders on Christmas. F*****g ruined Christmas,” Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce said on Bussin’ With The Boys, per Sporting News. “[Antonio Pierce], he had those dudes ready to brawl out there on the field. 100% man. And I love that s–t. I was like, man if we play with that kind of edge, or that kind of toughness, that kind of like don’t f*** with us mentality, we won’t be stopped. And it just kind of ended up like that. But that Raiders game was definitely a turning point.”

The Christmas Day loss was only the second time Mahomes fell to the Raiders in his career. In 12 games against Las Vegas (also Oakland before the relocation), the three-time Super Bowl champion has won 10 games and has thrown 30 touchdowns and four interceptions with a 109.6 passer rating.
Patrick Mahomes ‘can be that villian’
Before the Chiefs faced the San Francisco 49ers Mahomes spoke to ESPN about becoming a villain in the NFL. “I can definitely sense it. I never felt like that because I’ve never been like that in my entire life. But it’s become a little bit funny. I don’t want to say you enjoy it. I know the Patriots had that for a while,” Mahomes said.
“I’m hoping we do it in a different way with a little bit more fun and personality with it. But as long as you keep winning, teams start to not like you, and I want to keep winning. So if that means some of the other teams and other fan bases aren’t going to like me, I’ll try to still have a smile on my face and not be a bad example, but I can be that villain for them if they need me to be.”
