Las Vegas Raiders select Jack Bech in second round of 2025 NFL Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders have selected TCU receiver Jack Bech with the No. 58 pick in the second round of the 2025 NFL Draft. He flashed his potential during the past two seasons with the Horned Frogs as well as before that with LSU and will hope to carry it over into the pros.
Bech broke out this past year to surpass the 1,000-yard mark for the first time in his college career. He finished with 62 catches for 1,034 yards and nine touchdowns and was a second team All-Big 12 selection as well as a semifinalist for the Biletnikoff Award.
Bech improved his draft stock even more after the season as he was named the MVP at the Reese’s Senior Bowl. That shot him up among the top 10 receiver prospects according to ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr.
Bech played high school football for St. Thomas More in Lafayette, Louisiana, where he was a four-star prospect coming out of the 2021 class. He ranked as the No. 257 overall player and No. 40 receiver in the cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Bech committed to play for LSU out of high school and immediately stepped in to contribute as a true freshman. He started seven of 13 appearances and led the team with 43 receptions for 489 yards and three touchdowns.
Bech also gained attention this offseason as a human interest story after his brother, former Princeton receiver Tiger Bech, died in a terrorist attack in New Orleans on New Year’s Day. Jack dedicated his MVP performance in the Senior Bowl to his brother and certainly will carry his memory with him into his rookie season.

What NFL Draft analysts are saying about Jack Bech
NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein offered some additional analysis on Bech in his recent scout of the receiver’s draft profile. He compared him to Browns receiver Cedric Tillman, who was a third-round pick out of Tennessee in 2023.
Zierlein listed Bech’s size at 6-foot-1 among his many strengths, which also included his body control and ball skills. As far as areas he feels the receiver needs to work on, that included his route departures and burst off the line.
“Competitive inside or outside target who stands out as a box-checker in several important columns,” Zierlein wrote. “Bech can be slowed in press and might not have much separation speed, but he’s a big, strong receiver with outstanding ball skills. He’s physical at the top of the route and has a rebounder’s feel for owning catch space once he gains top positioning.
“His hands are sticky and strong with elite catch focus from any spot on the field. He’s fearless and physical as a runner but needs more nastiness as a run blocker. Bech’s lack of explosiveness could shrink his work space, but the focus should be on his pro-ready toughness and ball skills that make him a projectable possession target with WR3 upside.”
