The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series has had a caution thrown at the end of Stage 1. Mother Nature sent rain to the desert. There wasn’t supposed to be rain tonight but it found a way. This sport could make it rain anywhere on the planet.

The Las Vegas Truck Series race is under caution. Ty Majeski took the lead right before the rain came down. Tyler Ankrum led early in the first stage. Corey Day is holding in there after starting on the pole.

Let’s hope that this doesn’t cause more issues. No more rain, please. Let’s get this race finished.

NASCAR is not going to burn laps running around between stages. That is a good thing. This Truck Series race is not very long, only 200 miles. So, getting as many of those laps under green is important.

This appears to be a pop-up shower. Let’s hope that it is just that. We need this race to get back to green and see who is going to take home the third win of the Truck Series season.

Corey Day has a lot on his plate this evening. He is racing for Spire Motorsports in the No. 7 truck, a truck that won at Atlanta. Kyle Larson is watching closely at the track on pit road. Rajah Caruth and Day have support from HendrickCars.com the same as Larson in the Cup Series.

The Truck Series has such a good mix of young talent, veterans, and developing drivers. Tonight’s race could be a battle between a newcomer like Day and a series champion like Ty Majeski.

Corey Day trying to make a statement in Truck Series

Since last season, a lot has been said about Connor Zilisch as a prospect in NASCAR. However, there is an entire group of up-and-comers waiting to make a statement. Day included.

There are drivers like Brent Crews, William Sawalich, Carson Kvapil, and others who are starting to make a name for themselves. Day is in a different situation coming from a dirt racing background.

Unfortunately, the race is on hold right now. However, Corey Day has been great in the early going. The Truck Series puts on a good show at Las Vegas and I’d like to see more of it.

Rajah Caruth is hoping that he can make the right adjustments to repeat. His truck fell back in that long green flag run before the rain. Jet dryers are on the track trying to dry it off. Let’s hope that we get back to racing.
