Lawless Alan earns first-career ARCA win at Talladega in overtime

In an anticlimactic overtime, Lawless Alan was out front when the caution came out, and he will walk away an ARCA winner. He parked his AutoParkIt.com Toyota on the start-finish line.
While fans would have liked to see the overtime last longer than Turn 1, Lawless Alan won’t complain. The first win ever for Alan in ARCA, and he will take this momentum into the rest of the season.
He didn’t luck into the win. Lawless was up front all race long. Thad Moffitt, grandson of Richard Petty, finishes P2. Isabella Robusto was P3.
Thad Moffitt was right there. Had Isabella Robusto not delivered a great push to Lawless Alan heading into Turn 1, then this race ends much differently. You can’t help but wonder what might have been if we had another generation of Petty winning at Talladega.
For Robusto, the P3 finish marks the best finish ever by a female driver at Talladega in the ARCA Menards Series. That win feels like it is going to come eventually. We will see plenty of her this season as she chases that ARCA championship in a full-time ride with Venturini.
Of course, Cleetus McFarland, the YouTube sensation, was in this race. He managed to fight an ill-driving car to a P10 finish. His engine appeared to have an issue, but he wheeled it around the track and finished out the race as the top Ford in the field.

Lawless Alan sends warning to the competition
After this race Lawless Alan looked more relieved than anything. He had finally got a win in ARCA after so many attempts. Of course, he spent the last three seasons full-time in the Truck Series and stepped down to run full-time in ARCA for 2025.
This win and his P10 at Martinsville earlier this season show that he has the talent. Could Lawless be on his way to more wins?
“Man, first thing I got to say is God is so good, man. … Man, finally I got that monkey off my back,” Alan told Josh Sims after the race. “I can change my wallpaper to something happy. And, I think this is the worst possible thing that could have happened to the competition, because I’ve got the confidence that I can do it now. There’s no what-ifs, I can do it. Man, that feels good!”
Lawless Alan did thank his Venturini teammate, Isabella Robusto. She gave him the push he needed. From there, it was just the timing of the caution that gave the win to the 20 team. Onto the Xfinity Series, now.
