LeBron James relied on few words to describe his reaction to Steph Curry’s incredible hole-in-one. Rather, King James used 16 fire emojis to get his point across.

Now, that’s definitely a hot take on an ace. But everyone’s reaction should be extraordinary. It’s not often that a guy who makes a handsome living shooting basketballs makes one of the most difficult shots in golf.

Take a look at the video. It’s amazing everytime you see it.

Steph Curry, like so many other celebrities and all-star athletes, is playing in the American Century Championship at the Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course in Lake Tahoe. He teed off on hole No. 7, 152-yard par three. Curry froze in his follow through and watched as the ball stayed straight and true. It bounced once to the left of the pin, then darted to the hole as if there were magnets involved.

Curry took off in a full sprint, airplaning his arms and acknowledging the crowd. He even ripped off his glove and threw it to no one in particular. He then did a party loop around the green, but there was no one to high five since fans were behind the ropes. His delighted-out-of-his-mind reaction definitely was appropriate for this sensational sports moment.

And LeBron James, with all those fire emojis, gave the appropriate response to Steph Curry’s hole in one. It was a damn fine shot.

“That was my second one ever,” a breathless Steph Curry told a reporter from NBC. “I’m locked in right now, but to do it on this hole is unbelievable. Wow. … I’ll be out of breath for the rest of the day, for good reason though.”

Steph Curry battling hockey, tennis stars for tourney title

Curry is an outstanding golfer. He led the American Century tournament after Friday’s first round. The tournament uses what’s called a modified Stableford scoring system. It hands out points based on eagles, birdies and pars, but subtracts for double bogeys (or worse). Curry led with 27 points as he started Saturday’s round. His hole-in-one gave him eight points.

Former Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo is the defending champion. Other notables competing include Aaron Rodgers, Charles Barkley and Patrick Mahomes.

But we’re thinking Steph Curry has got this, given the momentum from his hole-in-one. After the second round, Curry totaled 50 points, which was three ahead of hockey star Joe Pavelski. Former tennis player Mardy Fish also sported a score of 47, putting him in a tie with Pavelski. The final round is Sunday.
