Lions RB Jahmyr Gibbs goes full send into stands after TD vs. Raiders
Detroit Lions (6-2) rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs is enjoying his role of being the undisputed RB1 while David Montgomery remains sidelined with a rib injury.
Look no further than his reaction after scoring his second touchdown of the season in the 26-14 Week 8 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders (3-5) Monday. After a 27-yard scamper to give the Lions a 22-16 lead in the third quarter, Gibbs kept on running and did a leap into the stands reminiscent of what you typically see at Lambeau Field.
Gibbs, used in a committee this season to the dismay of fantasy football managers everywhere, finally had his breakout game after being selected 12th overall by the Lions in April’s NFL Draft. The 21-year-old rushed for a career-high 152 yards on 26 carries and the touchdown. He was effective in the pass game as well, securing five receptions for 37 yards. With 189 total yards, Gibbs out-gained the entire Raiders’ offense (157 yards).
