Lions WR Amon-Ra St. Brown claims he'd rather face Vikings than Packers in NFL playoffs
The Detroit Lions have clinched a playoff berth, and Amon-Ra St. Brown knows which divisional opponent he would rather face in the postseason. On the St. Brown Podcast, the Lions wide receiver said he would rather face the Minnesota Vikings than the Green Bay Packers in the playoffs.
“Playing a division team in the playoffs, it gets nutty,” Amon-Ra St. Brown told his brother Equanimeous St. Bown. “You don’t know what’s going to happen.”
Amon-Ra St. Brown also said the Lions haven’t faced the Vikings for the second time yet this year. In the first meeting, the Lions got past Minnesota 31-29. The Vikings led 29-28 late in the fourth, but kicker Jake Bates scored a 44-yard field goal with 15 seconds remaining to give Detroit the win.
The second meeting between the Lions and Vikings won’t be until the final week of the regular season. Both teams will likely still be playing for something as the Lions are looking to clinch a bye in the first round of the playoffs and the Vikings are just one game behind the Lions for the NFC North lead.

Looking at Amon-Ra St. Brown’s 2024 season
It’s a little interesting St. Brown didn’t say he would rather face the Packers since the Lions beat them twice this season. With a 9-4 record, the Packers are close to clinching a spot in the postseason for the second consecutive year.
St. Brown is a big reason the Lions have the best record in the NFC as he has caught 81 passes for 863 yards and nine touchdowns in 13 games. This comes after an All-Pro 2023 season when the 25-year-old caught 119 passes for 1,515 yards and 10 touchdowns.
“Whatever happens is going to happen throughout the year, but I want to be the hardest practicing team, the best practicing team in the league,” St. Brown told his temmates recently, per ESPN. “Because at the end of the day, if you practice hard, the games are going to take care of itself.”
