LIV Golf team unveils futuristic digital billboards on golf bags
LIV Golf is about to get even louder. The league is breaking out futuristic-looking golf bags, which includes a digital billboard. It’s definitely a new and unique element to the sport, that’s for sure.
Majesticks GC announced the new sponsorship deal, which includes the unique digital billboard. And, to be honest, it seems like a brilliant marketing tool — one that we’re sure will be adopted across all of golf at some point.
“Definitely groundbreaking,” said Majesticks GC co-captain Ian Poulter. “Not something we’ve seen before on golf bags.”
The deal for Majesticks GC comes through Seamless Digital. This will allow the bags of the players on the team to showcase different slogans and advertisements throughout a round.
Per Yahoo, the technology was first incorporated in F1 racing. Now, it’s made its way to the golf course.
“I have enjoyed inputting into the research and development with Seamless Digital to bring dynamic branding technology to golf,” Poulter said. “Everyone knows my love for F1 and at every opportunity I have looked to see what learnings we can take from the pinnacle of motorsport and apply to our team and sport.
“I can’t wait to use the first digital golf bag this weekend alongside my teammates and to see the reaction of fans, fellow players and our commercial partners.”
Along with Poulter, Lee Westwood and Henrik Stenson co-captain Majesticks GC. Sam Horsfield and Laurie Canter make up the other two members of the squad.

Trouble for another LIV Golf team …
Moving away from the world of golf advertising … there seems to be some trouble in LIV Golf. Smash GC captain Brooks Koepka is pretty frustrated with one of his players, Matthew Wolff.
In a recent interview with Sports Illustrated, Koepka blasted Wolff for poor performance and attitude. In particular, Koepka seemed overly frustrated with Wolff withdrawing from an event in Washington, D.C. in May.
“I mean, when you quit on your round, you give up and stuff like that, that’s not competing,” said Koepka. “I’m not a big fan of that. You don’t work hard. It’s very tough. It’s very tough to have even like a team dynamic when you’ve got one guy that won’t work, one guy is not going to give any effort, he’s going to quit on the course, break clubs, gets down, bad body language, it’s very tough. I’ve basically given up on him—a lot of talent, but I mean the talent’s wasted.”
Smash GC briefly removed Wolff from its social media pages from the D.C. withdrawal. This week, LIV Golf heads to London and, despite the friction, Wolff plans to give it his best shot.
“I’m here, you know, trying to do what I can to play the best round of golf and that’s going to help the team,” Wolff told Sports Illustrated. “I’m just here to focus on myself and try to play some good golf and that’s what everyone’s really trying to do, because golf is trying to put the best score up and then if that helps your team it’s great.”
