Live Fast Motorsports confirms they sold charter to Spire Motorsports, releases statement
Amid the news that Trackhouse Racing has signed Zane Smith, Live Fast Motorsports confirms they sold their charter to Spire Motorsports. All of this is opening the door to Trackhouse eventually becoming a three-charter and then, potentially a four-charter NASCAR team.
Live Fast was keeping the news close to their chest until the Smith announcement was made. Now they have confirmed the reports that Spire Motorsports bought their charter for the No. 78 team.
The NASCAR Cup Series in 2024 is going to be very interesting and look a lot different than it does now.
“Live Fast Motorsports is confirming they have sold their charter to Spire Motorsports. We will address the media in the coming time for further statements,” the team said. “We thank all of our partners, fans, and LFM employees for their following and dedication, and we plan to continue in a part-time schedule in 2024 with an open car.”
As the season continues and we get closer to 2024, these reports and rumors will keep being confirmed. There is a lot more to go in the NASCAR silly season. Spire Motorsports is a very important part of that.

Why Spire Motorsports?
Now, it might look very unusual for a team that had just one top-5 finish all season between its two cars to add a third team. However, Spire Motorsports appears to be in a bit of a changing period. A new era perhaps at that organization.
Earlier this season, Spire announced that Gainbridge and Group 1001 were coming on as sponsors. Very involved in IndyCar and with the Andretti family, Group 1001 could be bringing in more funding than anyone realizes. Let’s not ignore Corey LaJoie’s top-10 qualifying effort this week at Bristol.
Speaking of LaJoie, he’s part of this too. He signed a multi-year deal with Spire, despite rumors that he had offers from more established organizations. Now the team is making a $40 million purchase for a third charter.
Not only that, Spire Motorsports is going to put Zane Smith in that new car, in a new alliance with Trackhouse Racing. A very interesting development happening as Spire looks to elevate their brand and performance on track. With LaJoie, Smith, and potentially Carson Hocevar in the 77 – Spire will have the talent behind the wheel.
