Just days after the USA Women’s Gymnastics team captured the gold medal in the Team Gymnastics event, stars Simone Biles and Suni Lee are back at it again in the individual competition.

Both will be going for gold in the All-Around competition on Thursday at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.

Biles has won five previous individual medals at the Olympics, while Lee has won two. Biles has won gold medals in the All-Around (Rio), vault (Rio) and floor (Rio), while taking the bronze medal in the balance beam twice (Rio and Tokyo).

Lee, of course, is the reigning All-Around champion, having won in Tokyo. She also won bronze on the uneven bars in Tokyo.

Biles, the USA gymnastics superstar, is obviously looking to overcome her individual performance at the Tokyo Olympics, where she got the “twisties” and ended up withdrawing. But she’ll enter on a high note, riding a wave of confidence after helping lead Team USA to the gold earlier this week.

On3 will have live updates of the individual competition throughout the day, starting below.

Live Updates – Gymnastics All-Around Final

FINAL UPDATE, 2:32 p.m. ET: The final score is in and it’s a whopping 15.066 for Biles. Gold and then some. What a day for the Americans, as Simone Biles takes gold and Suni Lee takes bronze in the women’s All-Around competition at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. And with that, we sign off.

2:30 p.m. ET: Biles is off and my goodness does she simply fly through the air. It’s clear why her routine scores as tougher than most of her opponents. Through the first two tumbling passes Biles is clean, which should be all she really needs. Oh, a slight overstep and maybe, just maybe, a toe out of bounds. But the follow-up pass is perfect and Biles should win gold. Now we wait…

2:25 p.m. ET: Rebeca Andrade is up next, and the Brazilian has been on fire throughout the day. But her first pass takes her out of bounds, which will result in a points deduction. The second pass was much smoother. Another really nice pass and that might be all she wrote for Lee’s chances to move up the podium (Biles pending, of course). We’ll see. It’s a 14.033, which will secure at least the silver medal for Andrade. Assuming Biles puts together a decent routine, that will leave Lee with the bronze.

2:21 p.m. ET: The score is in and Suni Lee will medal! She recorded a 13.666 on the floor, enough to move into the lead with only two gymnasts remaining.

2:20 p.m. ET: Lee is up with a definite chance at a medal, but she needs a strong routine. The first pass tumbling is PERFECT. Let’s see if she can keep the momentum going. Another excellent tumbling pass. A slight hop at the end, but otherwise scintillating stuff. That might just be the podium.

2:10 p.m. ET: Nemour is the first of those up in contention to take her turn through the floor routine with the eyes of the gymnastics world on her. She’s just gone dangerously near going out of bounds on a big step. Another big step on an under-rotation into a landing. We’ll wait to see the score, but that may not be enough for a medal. The score is… 13.100.

1:55 p.m. ET: The scores through the first three rotations are in. Biles leads Andrade by 0.166 going into the floor routine. Lee is tied with Nemour for fourth place, trailing the bronze medal position (Italy’s Alice D’Amato currently) by just 0.014.

1:50 p.m. ET: As we approach the final rotation it’s clear that we’re going to have one heck of a finish. Still waiting on Andrade’s score on the beam, but she and Biles will be going to their best event on the floor coming up. Tune into NBC now if you haven’t already. … We have an update. There’s been a score change for Nemour, which has now put her into a tie with Lee for third place. So there’s drama all across the potential medal positions.

1:45 p.m. ET: Now Suni Lee is up on the balance beam, one of her better skills. It wasn’t her cleanest performance, with a handful of wobbles and a big split step back on the landing. It’s a 14.000. That’s enough to temporarily put her into third place in the middle of the third rotation, though.

1:35 p.m. ET: Because Biles was the first to go on the beam she’s sitting on the lead here early in the third rotation. Will anyone put up a routine to catch her?

1:30 p.m. ET: Biles will be up first on the beam in the third rotation at the All-Around gymnastics final. Her entry was good and aside for one or two small wobbles, the routine looked good. Remember, it’s got a high difficulty score, so a routine without any major mistakes should put her right back in contention at the very top of the field. The score is in … 14.566.

1:15 p.m. ET: Lee has now taken her turn on the uneven bars and it looked like a great routine at first glance. She certainly stuck the landing. Now we’ll wait to see what the score is. A big one could vault her into contention after Biles’ slightly subpar routine. It’s a 14.866, a very good score for Lee but not enough yet to push the leaders. She’s now in fifth place through two rotations, but she trails Andrade by 0.967 … a hefty gap to make up.

1:10 p.m. ET: On the current live scores NBC is showing, Simone Biles (29.499) has slipped into third place, behind Andrade (29.766) and Algeria’s Kaylia Nemour (29.566). That’s through the first two rotations out of four.

12:55 p.m. ET: Andrade led things off in the uneven bars with a score of 14.666. Biles was next up on the event and had one miscue during her routine. But she absolutely nailed the landing and will wait on her score. It’s a 13.733 and Biles won’t be pleased with that.

12:30 p.m. ET: Simone Biles was next up in the gymnastics showcase, with a high start value on her vault. She took a big step back on the landing but still scored a 15.776, which will put her in the lead.

12:25 p.m. ET: Suni Lee was first up on the vault and got off to a decent start, albeit with a slight hop on the landing. She scored a 13.933, which will trail some of the other early scores in the field. Brazil’s Rebeca Andrade is in with a 15.100, which will lead all scorers early on.
