Livvy Dunne returning to SI Swimsuit Issue for third year

Livvy Dunne is returning to the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit issue for the third year. The LSU gymnast shared multiple Instagram photos and videos of her shooting for the issue that will be released in May.
In one Instagram post, SI Swimsuit said Dunne, “impacts every space she steps into.” In a statement about appearing in the 2025 issue, Dunne said, “There are no footsteps that I followed in… so I’m kinda just writing my own story here.”
Sports Illustrated Swimsuit editor MJ Day sent an inspiring message to Dunne. She said, “You have moved mountains in your young life, and I want you to wear that crown.”
Livvy Dunne has gained a lot of attention over the years, as she has over 13 million combined TikTok and Instagram followers. Last year, Dunne helped LSU win its first NCAA championship.

“Last year, we featured Livvy the D1 athlete, highlighting her accolades as an all-academic and an all-star on the rise,” Day said about Dunne after shooting for SI Swimsuit in 2023. “This year, we are featuring Livvy as a well-established, industrious entrepreneur who continues to break barriers and forge an unforgettable path for herself and future generations of female athletes.”
“Ever since my last SI shoot, I feel like it just opened a bunch of new doors into the modeling world and media world. I announced at the ESPYs, I worked with new magazine brands, and it’s just been really cool,” Livvy Dunne recalled. “SI Swim means to me being comfortable in your own skin and being undeniably you, which is something I still work on to this day. In the sport of gymnastics, [body image is] a huge thing, and it’s something that I’m still working on to this day, being confident. But SI’s really helped me to see that it’s O.K. to not be perfect and to just be comfortable in your own skin.”
