Los Angeles Chargers select KeAndre Lambert-Smith in 5th round of 2025 NFL Draft

The Los Angeles Chargers selected Auburn wide receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith in the 5th round of the 2025 NFL Draft. They took him with the No. 158 overall pick.
Lambert-Smith spent the final season of his career at Auburn after four years at Penn State. It was a great decision on his part; he put together his most productive season with the Tigers.
In 2014, KeAndre Lambert-Smith recorded 50 catches for 981 yards and eight touchdowns. The latter two statistics were both career highs.
In total, across five years in college, Lambert-Smith notched 176 catches for 2,702 yards and 19 scores. That puts him among the most productive receivers in this year’s draft class.
Prior to enrolling at Penn State, KeAndre Lambert-Smith was ranked as a four-star prospect and the No. 193 overall player in the 2020 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings. He also checked in as the No. 36 receiver in the class and the No. 4 overall player from the state of Virginia, hailing from Norfolk (VA) Maury.

What NFL Draft analyst are saying about KeAndre Lambert-Smith
There’s a lot of game tape out there on Lambert-Smith at this point. That can mean a couple things. One, the weaknesses are usually easy to spot. Two, if he’s been good at something, chances are he’s done it long enough to consider it a given at this point.
So what are NFL Draft analysts saying? Well, here’s what NFL Network analyst Lance Zierlein had to say in evaluating KeAndre Lambert-Smith as a prospect:
“Slender wideout whose 2024 production at Auburn is unlikely to translate to the league. He lacks suddenness and play strength to breeze into routes.
“He’s also unable to get in and out of breaks quickly enough to keep defenders from staying connected to his routes. Lambert-Smith is good at tracking and adjusting to make plays downfield, but he might not have enough pure speed to major in vertical routes.”
