The Los Angeles Rams have released a new statement about the team’s Wild Card game against the Minnesota Vikings as the city of Los Angeles deals with wildfires. In the statement, the Rams said the game is still scheduled for Monday night at SoFi Stadium, but they will let ticket holders know if it’s moved to Arizona.

“The safety of the Los Angeles community is our top priority, and our thoughts are with everyone affected by the fires in the area,” the Rams said in a statement. “We are grateful for the tireless efforts of first responders who continue to protect our city and community as well as individuals who continue to help our neighbors in need.

“As of now, the Wild Card playoff game featuring your Los Angeles Rams and the Minnesota Vikings remains scheduled to be played at SoFi Stadium on Monday night at 5 PM PT. As with all games, the NFL has contingency plans in the event a change in location is needed due to the tragic fires in our region. If the NFL decides a change in location is needed, the game would be played on Monday night at State Farm Stadium in Glendale, AZ. That is currently only a contingency plan and if that happens we will inform all ticket holders via email what that means for their current tickets. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and remain in contact with local officials, the NFL and NFLPA.”

Rams HC Sean McVay previews playoff game vs. Vikings

A series of wildfires have devastated several areas across Los Angeles this week, causing thousands to evacuate and impact air quality. Per ESPN, the Rams said no players or staff members were impacted by the fires. The team’s headquarters is located in Woodland Hills, a neighborhood located 13 miles north of the Pacific Palisades which was hit hard by the wildfires.”

As the Rams are making sure they stay safe with the rest of the Los Angeles citizens, they continue to prepare for the playoff game against the Vikings. Rams head coach Sean McVay recently shared his thoughts about playing on Monday night instead of Saturday or Sunday.

“I think it’s good. It allows us to have a good week of preparation and maybe some opportunities to do some things while keeping guys fresh that maybe you wouldn’t have in previous experiences,” McVay said, per KTLA. “Being as fresh and as healthy as possible going into this tournament is really important to us, especially for some of the guys that have accumulated a bunch of experience or a bunch of wear and tear on their bodies when you did have a week six bye.”
