LSU TE Mason Taylor declares for 2025 NFL Draft
LSU tight end Mason Taylor, the son of former NFL great Jason Taylor, has declared for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Taylor announced the news in an Instagram post on Thursday afternoon.
“From the moment I could say ‘football,’ I had a front-row seat to witnessing this great game played at its highest level, inspiring my dreams and aspirations of one day doing the same,” Taylor wrote. “Louisiana State University has given me the opportunity to play with and against the absolute best college football has to offer, and has prepared me to transform those childhood dreams into reality.
“After prayer and consideration, I have decided to forgo my senior season and declare for the 2025 NFL Draft.”
Taylor has slowly increased his production for the Tigers over the years, but he’s been contributing for three straight years now. As a true freshman, he logged 38 catches for 414 yards and three touchdowns.
He had a small step back in production as a sophomore in 2023, tallying 36 catches for 348 yards and a touchdown. This season he has 55 catches for 546 yards and two touchdowns.

Taylor gave special thanks to his family in his departure note.
“I would not be in this position without God and the support and guidance from so many incredible people in my life,” Mason Taylor wrote. “To my parents and my siblings, your love and support has no limits and has provided the foundation I continue to build upon to this day.
“Mom, I have no bigger cheerleader than you, the first person to throw footballs my way. Dad, you set the standard. I’ll never forget tackling you as a child when I didn’t think anyone else could.”
