Brian Kelly and the LSU Tigers will take their campaign on the road in Week 3, facing off against Shane Beamer’s South Carolina Gamecocks in an SEC clash.
The two programs haven’t faced each other since 2020, when the Tigers defeated the Gamecocks by a score of 55-24. In total, LSU and South Carolina have faced each other 22 times, with the Tigers winning 19 of them, and one tie happening in 1995.
Will LSU continue their dominance over South Carolina, or will the Gamecocks kickoff a new era against the Tigers with a win? The odds, provided by FanDuel Sportsbook, have the Tigers as the favorite by 8.5 points, with the over/under set at 54.5.
In Week 1, LSU fell to USC in a doozy of a game during the Modelo Vegas Kickoff Classic. After a disappointing start to the season, the Tigers looked to bounce back in Week 2 against Nicholls, taking care of business in front of the Baton Rouge faithful.
On the other hand, South Carolina narrowly escaped Old Dominion in Week 1, as the Gamecocks were able to stave off a potential upset by a score of 23-19. In Week 2 against Kentucky, a statement win was made by head coach Shane Beamer.
