Nico Harrison is not a popular person around Dallas right now. Over a week after the Luka Doncic trade, the Mavericks general manager has heard plenty of chants for his firing. They took place at the American Airlines Center on Monday and one day later, went down to the college basketball ranks.

SMU was hosting Pittsburgh on Tuesday, a big one in the ACC. But with Harrison in attendance, the SMU student section decided to voice their displeasure with him. They started to say “Fire Nico” with Harrison not sitting too far away.

The chants did not get too loud but were vocal enough to hear around the arena. Being in the middle of Dallas, there has to be a good amount of crossover fans between SMU and the Mavs.

While there was no chance, a fan did mouth the words “Fire Nico” when appearing on the jumbotron at the American Airlines Center. Not too long after, the same fan plus a friend held up a sign saying the same thing. They were soon escorted out of the arena by security guards and ushers.

Fans have not been told to leave Moody Coliseum. Even some of the younger generation have gotten in on the chants now. Another video was captured of some kids following in the footsteps of the SMU studnets.

Harrison will continue to hear from the Dallas faithful, apparently no matter where he is. If SMU fans chant for him to be fired, they certainly will continue at Mavericks games.

Dallas Mavericks set to be without Anthony Davis following trade

The Dallas Mavericks just added Anthony Davis to the roster after trading Luka Doncic to the Los Angeles Lakers, and he’s now dealing with a serious injury. NBA reporter Marc Stein revealed that Davis could miss a significant amount of time due to him injuring his adductor.

“It is feared that the Mavericks’ newly acquired Anthony Davis will be sidelined for an indefinite period … with the severity of his adductor injury sustained Saturday still being determined,” Stein wrote on X.

According to ESPN, Davis could miss multiple weeks of action. The former Kentucky Wildcats star suffered a left adductor strain during Saturday’s game against the Houston Rockets. Davis recorded 26 points, 16 rebounds, seven assists and three blocks in 31 minutes.
