WATCH: Luke Bryan tells hilarious story of trolling Tim Tebow with his Heisman Trophy
Country music star and Georgia fan Luke Bryan put his hatred of Florida on full display two years ago when he allowed a Bulldog to lick peanut butter off the Heisman Trophy of former Gators quarterback Tim Tebow.
The moment happened in November of 2020 ahead of the annual rivalry game between the two school, and became a topic of conversation when Bryan appeared as a guest on Monday Night Football’s Manningcast with Peyton and Eli Manning. There he told the two brothers the backstory of how the trophy landed in his possession, revealing that the Bulldog belonged to country music radio host Bobby Bones.
“First of all, Tebow auctioned it off for charity, which is amazing,” Bryan began. “Sadly, my wife, she was in the wine and I think she got caught up in Tebow’s muscular build. She got caught up in Tebow’s muscles (and) she bought the Heisman. So it stayed at our house for a year and that’s actually Bobby Bones — Bobby Bones owns an English Bulldog called Bobby Bones. I said, ‘Hey, I need a Bulldog. I have the Heisman, it’s Georgia-Florida week and I need a Bulldog to lick peanut butter off a Heisman, especially Tim Tebow’s.”

Florida would ultimately get the last laugh that season, however, as the Gators went on to beat the Bulldogs 44-28. They also won the SEC East and competed for the SEC Championship that season, where they ended up losing to eventual national champion Alabama 52-46.

However, Georgia would go on to win the next two seasons, including a 42-20 victory this season. The Bulldogs also hold a 54-44-2 all-time advantage in the rivalry.
Thankfully for Gators fans, Tebow’s Heisman Trophy is no longer in the possession of Luke Bryan, as he only kept it for one year before it was again auctioned off for charity.
