New York Giants receiver Malik Nabers has been rewarded for his excellent rookie season by being named to the Pro Bowl, the Giants announced on Monday.

Nabers is replacing Lions star receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who will miss the Pro Bowl due to an injury.

Malik Nabers is the first Giants receiver to earn a spot in the Pro Bowl since Odell Beckham, Jr. did so in 2016. He is also the first Giants rookie to make the Pro Bowl since Beckham in 2014.

Nabers finished his rookie season with 109 catches for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns as he was a huge bright spot for a Giants offense that struggled for much of the year.

In addition to Malik Nabers, Giants defensive tackle Dexter Lawrence also made the Pro Bowl for the 2024 season.

Malik Nabers was drafted with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft after an outstanding career at LSU. He topped the 1,000-yard mark in each of his final two seasons of college football, including in 2023 when he exploded for 89 catches for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns.

He was the top target for LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels, who had an excellent rookie season in the NFL, as well.

Nabers earned unanimous All-American honors in 2023, prior to declaring for the NFL Draft.

He was named to the Pro Bowl, despite missing a pair of games this past season.

Mike Greenberg praises Jayden Daniels’ rookie season as greatest NFL has ever seen

In addition to Malik Nabers, another former LSU star who excelled as a rookie was Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

The Commanders lost in the NFC Championship Game to the Eagles, but Daniels still had an incredible year.

During Sunday’s episode of NFL Countdown, ESPN’s Mike Greenberg made a bold claim about Daniels.

“As far as Jayden Daniels is concerned, and that really should be the storyline here, we can forget about the conversation about greatest rookie seasons for a QB ever. If you appreciate the history of the sport – the greatest rookie seasons the league has ever seen are people like Jim Brown, Gale Sayers, Mike Ditka – I think Jayden Daniels goes to No. 1,” Greenberg said. “I think with this win, Jayden Daniels is the greatest rookie the NFL has ever had, and he’s one win away now from the Super Bowl.”

Daniels didn’t get that win but leading the Commanders to the NFC Championship Game is an incredible accomplishment.
