Malik Nabers injury update: Game status for New York Giants WR revealed
Malik Nabers has been the focal point of the New York Giants offense through the first four games of his rookie season, but he suffered a concussion at the end of the team’s loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, and it seems like it’s going to hamper him moving forward.
It’s been revealed that the former LSU superstar turned Giants wide receiver will miss New York’s Week 5 clash with the Seattle Seahawks, Brian Daboll announced on Friday afternoon.
“WR Malik Nabers (concussion) is OUT for Sunday vs. the Seahawks, per coach Brian Daboll,” ESPN’s Jordan Raanan posted on X. “RB Devin Singletary making progress. Will practice Friday.”
Nabers leads the NFL in receptions with 35, and he’s amassed 386 yards and three touchdowns over four games. The Giants offense has been given a shot in the arm due to his production, but if he’s not able to go on Sunday, it could be a long afternoon for Daniel Jones and company.
Moreover, Nabers played a critical role in guiding the Giants to a 21-15 win over the Cleveland Browns on Sept. 22. He hauled in eight catches for 78 yards and two touchdowns, on 12 targets. The former LSU star also shined against the Washington Commanders on Sept. 15th. Even though the Giants lost 21-18, Nabers hauled in 10 catches for 127 yards and a touchdown on 18 total targets.

Head coach fired
Temple to fire Stan Drayton
He’s expected to get force fed targets this season by Daboll, and the Giants head coach has not disappointed. Nabers has tallied double digit targets in his first four games of his rookie campaign.
In his absence, receivers Wan’Dale Robinson, Darius Slayton and Jalin Hyatt will be expected to step up. Additionally, Raanan noted running back Devin Singletary is expected to be able to play, which will help ease the pain of not having Nabers on the field.
The Giants were always a long shot to go into Seattle and defeat the Seahawks in Week 5, but their chances just became even graver with Malik Nabers being declared out. Now, hopefully he only has to miss one game, and the injury doesn’t deprive football fans of witnessing an all-time great rookie season in 2024.
