New details have emerged after Marcus Jordan was arrested and charged DUI, cocaine possession and resisting arrest Tuesday. TMZ, which initially reported the arrest, followed up with another report that showed dashcam footage of the police pursuit that preceded it.
Footage shows an officer pull up behind a Lamborghini SUV that Jordan, the son of NBA Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, was allegedly driving. The police car turns on its lights to signal the vehicle to pull over, at which point it appears to speed up and go out of sight.
The officer then pulls over instead of pursuing the car further and calls on the radio to let other police know what just happened. According to police documents, Marcus was found by Maitland Police Department officers about 10 minutes later on nearby railroad tracks.
Officers wrote in their report that the car Marcus was driving had gotten stuck and that he appeared to be intoxicated when they questioned him about the situation. He is seen on video telling police “I was trying to make a right, but I ended up on the train tracks, apparently.”
After a few more questions, one officer tells him to keep his hands out of his pockets and then begins to search him. At this point, Marcus name drops his father, saying, “I’m Marcus Jordan. I’m Michael Jordan’s son. I’m not doing anything wrong. I’m just trying to get home and I made a wrong turn.”
Later in the video, an officer tells Marcus Jordan that he is concerned about his level of impairment and can smell alcohol coming from him. Marcus denies the accusation, saying he is “fine behind the wheel” and “not inebriated.”
He would allegedly go on to fail several sobriety tests administered by the officers, and they placed him under arrest for DUI.

The police also claimed that they found cocaine in Marcus’ pocket during the search of his person. He allegedly refused to take a breathalyzer and the full list of charges was for DUI crash causing property damage, possession of cocaine and resisting an officer without violence.
Marcus Jordan was released from jail late Tuesday morning and, as of the posting of this article, has not made a public statement about the arrest.
Marcus Jordan is a 34-year-old from Chicago who played for UCF from 2009-12. He obviously did not have the career that his father Michael Jordan had, but he was a solid player. He earned second-team All-Conference USA honors in 2011 and was on the Conference USA All-Freshman team in 2010.
