Marquez Valdes-Scantling carted to locker room after injury
Not much has happened on the field during Saturday’s preseason game between the Buffalo Bills and Pittsburgh Steelers. Unfortunately, a few injuries have occurred, with Bills wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling being the latest.
Valdes-Scantling was originally down on the ground, with the training staff calling for a stretcher. Thankfully, using it was not required as Valdes-Scantling was able to walk off under his own power. An exact injury is not yet known but there was not a return to the game.
Not too long thereafter, Valdes-Scantling was seen leaving the field for the locker room on a cart. He was in the front seat and not lying down in the back.

Before being forced off the field, Valdes-Scantling has just one reception on the night, going for eight yards. Buffalo starter Josh Allen did not see playing time, with Mitch Trubisky and Ben DiNucci delivering passes for the Bills.
Valdes-Scantling is entering his first season with Buffalo after previously playing for the Kansas City Chiefs and Green Bay Packers. There was a lot of team success in Kansas City as Valdes-Scantling has two Super Bowl rings sitting in his house. Having your quarterbacks be Aaron Rodgers, Patrick Mahomes, and Allen is certainly not a bad gig.

Buffalo Bills reshaping wide receiver room
The wide receiver room is going to look quite different in upstate New York this season. Some staples are no longer with the team, most notably Stefon Diggs. He was traded to the Houston Texans in the offseason, ending what was one of the league’s best duos with him and Allen.
Gabe Davis, who was a great deep threat, has moved on from Buffalo as well. He remained in the AFC with the Jacksonville Jaguars, cashing in on a three-year $39 million contract. Davis was a key part of some key playoff moments for the Bills but looked elsewhere once becoming a free agent.
Valdes-Scantling is one of the fresh faces in the room. Elsewhere, no rookie has shown off his personality more than former Florida State star Keon Coleman, being a second-round pick this last April. Curtis Samuel was another offseason acquisition after previously playing in Washington.
Even with dramatic changes, Buffalo still expects to compete atop the AFC, hoping to break a long Super Bowl drought.
