The Kansas City Chiefs rolled up at M&T Bank and walked out with the Lamar Hunt Trophy on Sunday night. The 17-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens will go down as one of quarterback Patrick Mahomes‘ best playoff games and gives the Chiefs their fourth Super Bowl appearance in five years. Kansas City wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling had a legendary reaction to the win ready to go once the clock hit 0:00. MVS posted on X, “At The Bank,” with two photos of infamous Chiefs fan-turned-alleged-bank-robber “Chiefsaholic.”

Xaviar Babudar, also known as Chiefsaholic, became a prominent figure in Chiefs Nation and cameras constantly found him at games at Arrowhead Stadium thanks to his wolf costume. That is until he was arrested for the robbery of the Tulsa Teachers Federal Credit Union on Dec. 16, 2022.

Chiefsaholic avoided authorities for months until police finally arrested him in California. Per ESPN, Babudar was linked to six robberies and two attempted robberies between March and December 2022. He even made it onto the FBI’s most-wanted list. Authorities estimate that the superfan stole more than $800,000 in total.

Babudar told ESPN this year that he would try his best to keep up with the Chiefs games, even if he has to listen to the broadcast via “janky 90s radio.” ESPN premiered a documentary, Where Wolf: The Search for ChiefsAholic, in November.

“It’s going to be a struggle for sure and that’s putting it lightly,” Babudar said. “Being incarcerated makes it very tough and I do not get a say as to how I can follow the Chiefs this season. I will do my best to catch the games when I can, as I should be able to listen to the television broadcast through a janky 90s-looking battery-powered hand radio.”

Chiefs headed to Super Bowl LVIII

If the notorious Kansas City fan was watching the game on Sunday night he would undoubtedly be thrilled. Valdes-Scantling did his part for the Chiefs, recording two catches for 38 yards, including one catch for a first down.

Patrick Mahomes finished the victory 30-for-39 with 241 passing yards, one touchdown pass and two sacks. He and Travis Kelce got the scoring going with a touchdown in the first quarter. They had 11 connections for 116 yards. Now, the Kansas City Chiefs move on to face the winner between the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions in Super Bowl LVIII in Las Vegas.
