Baltimore Ravens fans and their former MVP quarterback, Lamar Jackson, were surprised by the team trading away young star receiver Marquise Hollywood Brown. However, the trade was not a surprise to brown as he later revealed that he requested a trade from Baltimore.

During an interview with the I am athlete podcast, Brown confirmed that the rumor of him requesting a trade was true. The former Oklahoma Sooner explained that this was not a knee-jerk reaction and was based on his happiness.

“It was just (about) my happiness. I mean, I talked to Lamar about it, you know, after my second year,” said Brown. “And you know then I after my third year, leading up to the end of the season, he wasn’t playing, and I let him know again, like, yeah bro I can’t do it. And you know it’s not really on Lamar. Like I love Lamar it was just, you know, it’s just the system wasn’t for me personally.”

NFL fans who tuned in for the 2022 NFL draft first round on Thursday night were treated to an entertaining 2 hours of coverage. It was one of the wildest nights in draft history, setting several records, including the most round one trades with nine. One of those trades was the Ravens sending brown to the Arizona Cardinals for the 23rd pick of the draft. As of now, the trade looks like a win for everybody involved. Baltimore picked up an extra pick after making another trade to move back to 25 and turn that into center Lindenbaum. The Cardinals add another explosive speedy receiver after losing Christian Kirk to the Miami Dolphins this offseason. And brown got precisely what he wanted, a new home with his former college quarterback Kyler Murray.

Jackson displays anger with Hollywood Brown trade in string of tweets

One of the biggest blockbuster trades of the 2022 NFL Draft thus far happened in the first round, when the Baltimore Ravens dealt their star receiver, Hollywood Brown, to the Arizona Cardinals. The franchise dealt their No. 100 overall selection (third round choice) and Brown to the Cardinals for the No. 23 overall selection in the first round. It’s been well known the past few years that Lamar Jackson and Brown were very close. After all, Jackson hand-picked Hollywood to join him in Baltimore. So, it shouldn’t be surprising to hear that Jackson was very upset about the deal and let that be known with a series of tweets.

Here is one of them.
