Martin Truex Jr. bites Loudon the Lobster after New Hampshire win
To celebrate his very first win at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, Martin Truex Jr. hoisted Loudon the Lobster and even gave him a little bite. I’m not sure what the procedure for the lobster is every year after the NASCAR race. However, Truex Jr. might have just threatened that crustacean with what is soon to come.
The giant lobster is one of the most fun parts of the New Hampshire weekend. We had to wait until Monday, for the first time ever at the Magic Mile, but it was worth it. Martin Truex Jr. might have dominated the afternoon, but he was never safe and had to earn his lead on each lap.
This is going to be a delicious win for Truex Jr. and his team. At a track that has meant so much to him, the NASCAR driver finally gets it done. And he’s going to enjoy it, bite by bite.
With his third win of the season secured, Martin Truex Jr. is going to be a real threat to win the regular season championship. He should definitely be looked at as a championship favorite. Since New Hampshire is so similar to Phoenix, other drivers should be worried.
When it comes to the mile-long tracks, you can count on Truex to be involved someway and somehow.
Before taking the checkered flag, MTJ had to sweat it out a little bit. This race was not guaranteed and just on mistake would mean disaster for his race, like a few times before.

Martin Truex Jr.’s crew makes the right call
Following an Alex Bowman wreck late in the race, Martin Truex Jr. had a decision to make. He could take four tires or just two. His crew chief James Small pulled the right card out and took two right-side tires and sent his driver back out there.
Once the race restarted, Truex Jr. was out to the lead quickly. He had to fight a bit through cars that stayed out on strategy. However, it wasn’t long before he assumed his role back at the front of the field. Then, another caution.
This time it was from his own teammate Christopher Bell. There was nothing Bell could do as he raced in the top-10 and searched for a top-5 finish. Another caution and another restart. Even though he was nervous, Martin Truex Jr. didn’t show it with his driving.
In another dominant performance, Truex Jr. drove his No. 19 Toyota Camry to a win. He will take control of the NASCAR points standings and he might not be done yet. In the last 10 races of the season, Truex has three wins, three additional top-5s, and another top-10. He’s on one hell of a streak.
